TAGHUT Biography
Taghut originally formed in 1999 under the monicker 666. Original members The Antichrist (Guitarz/Vox) and T. Matthews (bazz) went through a few drummers before finding Luke Angelo (drumz) in 2001. Rehearsals progressed into songs which became a demo recorded in 2003, then under the monicker Branded 666. Receiving some minor airplay on a local radio show now defunct (called Sonic Insanity) was about all Branded 666 did for promotion, although Barbarian Wrath Records did have them in an online poll in 2004 for which band to sign to the label. Branded 666 did not win this competition obviously. An album was then recorded and a label was found in Finland called PRIMITIVE REACTION Records. This debut album "Ejaculate Upon The Holy Qur'an" has been released on CD in May 2008 and then in LP format shortly thereafter. Expect pure hatred and malevolence on this album. TAGHUT has, since their inception, been one of the first bands to be publicly "Anti-Muslim" and have some scathing songs against Islam and blaspheming the name of Muhammad. Of course Christianity and Judaism are targets as well. The band name, TAGHUT, was taken only after the album was recorded. It is an Islamic word::
"In an Islamic context, the Arabic word taghut refers to idolatry, considered impurity. This can be anything worshipped other than the one true God (Allah), such as deities of other religions, people claiming themselves to be holy outside of Islam's definition, or the worshipping of ideas or ideologies before God."
This certainly sums up what the band is about.

Yet, they seek the decisions (concerning their lives) from the ‘taghut’ _ (those arrogant ones rebelling against Allah) _ even though ‘taghut’ is precisely what they were ordered to reject and refute. Shaitan wants to lead them astray, and far away.
[004:076] Those who believe, do fight for the sake of Allah, while those who reject faith fight for the cause of ‘taghut’ _ (all rebellious forces aligned against Allah). So, fight against the minions of Shaitans. Feeble indeed is the wily guile of Shaitan!
